If you’ve visited the MIT OpenCourseWare website recently, you may or may not have noticed something new at the top of your screen: a banner reading “We need your input! Take this brief survey to shape the future of MIT OpenCourseWare.”
Of course we already have guesses as to who is using our website, how they’re using it, and what kinds of changes we could make to improve our users’ experience. We even have anecdotal feedback from actual learners from all over the world. We value that feedback deeply, but guesses and anecdotal feedback are no substitute for good, hard data.
So we’ve created a user survey to help us collect that data—to tell us what the learners who visit our site want, what’s working well, and what could be improved. The survey, which went live this week, will remain open until we’ve accumulated enough responses to have confidence in the results. Those responses will inform and shape the future of MIT OpenCourseWare.
As a valued member of our global learning community, you and your thoughts about MIT OpenCourseWare are important to us. If you’ve already taken the survey, thank you for your participation. If you haven’t, please consider sharing your input now. Or just click on the link in the banner at the top of the MIT OpenCourseWare homepage the next time you visit the site. There’s no great time commitment—we estimate that participating in the survey will take most users only about five minutes. Our data set can’t be complete without the data points you provide!
And if the joy of helping us improve MIT OpenCourseWare isn’t enough, consider this added incentive: Once you complete the survey, you’ll be eligible to enter a raffle for a chance to win a $25 American Express gift card!
