MIT President L. Rafael Reif and Harvard President Drew Faust co-worte an opinion piece appearing in the Boston Globe yesterday, highlighing the promise and the challenges presented by emerging digital learning technologies. From that piece:
…the world will be better for what online learning can offer. Nearly 40 percent of the world’s population is connected to the Internet. People once separated from opportunity are now able to connect to it through education, and constantly evolving digital technologies are making the experience of learning through a computer better and better.
The article is published to coincide with a summit co-hosted by MIT and Harvard addressing online learning and the future of residential education, being held today on the MIT campus.
