For the last several years, OCW has reported to Associate Provost Philip Khoury, who heads up MIT’s global engagements. But with the advent of MITx, it became clear that MIT needed to reorganize its digital learning programs to better take advantage of the capacities available at the Institute.
This was accomplished last November through the creation of the new Office of Digital Learning under the direction of Professor Sanjay Sarma. The new office brings together MIT OpenCourseWare, the Office of Educational Innovation and Technology (longstanding friends and collaborators with OCW) and the team being set up to support MITx.
We’re thrilled to be a part of this dynamic new organization and to figure out how we can help one another better accomplish our distinct missions, but fear not: the Institute remains committed to sustaining and improving the MIT OpenCourseWare site as a key activity of the new office.
